Chang Whan (Peter) Moon
Deputy Chairman and Vice President

 

Peter has more than 25 years of experience providing business development and professional advisory support to government, military, and private organizations in the areas of sales and marketing, program management, strategic planning, technology product launches, financial analysis, technology licensing, and joint-venturing. He has been involved in technologies including integrated security systems, advanced power systems for electric vehicle and industrial applications, microeletromechanical systems (MEMS), biometric smartcards, semiconductors, advanced display systems, airbags, shipbuilding, EAI/BI software, and 3-D computed tomography (CT) systems.

 

He was involved with government and military organization work in the Department of Energy, SDIO (now BMDO), Department of the Navy, Department of the Air Force, Military Sea Lift Command, Federal Aviation Administration, USAID, and the US Postal Service. A consummate relationship builder, he forged strong continuing bonds at the highest levels of companies such as Mitsui, Sumitomo, Mitsubishi, Nissho Iwai, Bridgestone, Samsung, Acer, Tatung, Fiat, Skoda, Black & Decker, EDF, Groupe Schneider, Hyundai, Daewoo, and others.

 

Mr Moon's strong financial skills complement his strategy and management skills – he is an expert at bridging cultural gaps between the U.S. and international companies and organizations (he has lived in Korea, Japan, Kuwait, Bolivia, and Argentina).

 

As Director of International Business Development for BDM International (now part of Northrop Grumman), he started international sales activities, identified/appointed agents in Taiwan, Japan and Korea, and initiated and negotiated contracts.

 

With Horizon Battery Technology, Inc., he identified and negotiated licensing agreements totaling $10M with the leaders of major corporations in Japan and India.

 

He also participated in securing $200M of equity funding from a Singapore company for the first private port in India.

 

He reversed a sales decline and delivered an increase in sales revenues of $3M in less than a year for a leading provider of business intelligence and enterprise-wide, web-based knowledge management solutions.

 

With Ernst & Young and PwC, he managed multiple major assignments focused on organizational change, process and management improvement, and strategic planning. He led a $90M Navy Industrial Improvement Program with 20 direct reports and 300 indirect reports.

 

Mr. Moon received a BA in Political Science and Economics from the College of William and Mary and conducted graduate studies at George Washington University (International Business) and the College of William and Mary (Political Science).
