Key Personnel - Tony Melton

Tony Melton
Vice President and Chief Engineer

 

Tony has more than 25 years of experience as a program manager for a wide range of industries. He has working knowledge of the aerospace, automotive, electronics, security, and the inspection (specifically, Non-Destructive Evaluation) industries.

 

In his more than 15 years of developing imaging systems, Mr. Melton has developed a wide range of x-ray imaging and optical imaging systems. These range from low energy (120–225 KeV), high-resolution microfocus systems to very large (15–17 MeV) systems and use a wide range of imaging techniques from high magnification x-ray microscopes to 3D computer tomography systems.

 

These imaging system development skills translate well to another growing area for KTC - integrating large-scale, complex security systems. These systems include the integration of CCTV, x-ray, radiation detection, metal detection, explosives detection, and access control systems.

 

Mr. Melton has developed multi-million dollar projects for the United States Department of Energy, Department of Defense, commercial markets and military agencies of allied nations. These projects have a history of being on time and under budget.

 

A Professional Engineer (PE), he is also a Level III ASNT certified NDT inspector, teacher, designer and holds (international) approval authority.

 

He graduated fro California State University - Chico with a BSEE. He worked with Lockheed Satellite and Space Corporation as a reliability engineer, received additional specialized training at NASA, and led inspection technologies at HYTEC, Inc. working for the Departments of Defense and Energy.
